Lash extensions, aka the best thing I have done to my face, EVER!!! To be honest, I was VERY skeptical when I first heard about lash extensions. I saw a lot of people getting them and I just thought it was weird and unnecessary. I also heard that they ripped out your permanent eyelashes. All of which is very untrue!!
Last September I received a complimentary lash service at Amazing Lash Studio for OCFW and was hesitant booking the appointment lol. I walked out saying, “There is NO way I’m ever doing that again!” Fast forward to now, and I have not gone a single day without my extensions.
The biggest mistake I made that gave me the initial feeling of not wanting to get them done again was the fact that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I assumed it was a super quick process (less than 20 mins), that I could shower after, and that I could put makeup on right after. These factors originally made feel like they weren’t worth it, but after just a few short days with my new lashes, I was in LOVE. Just like any other beauty enhancer (fake nails, extensions, microblading, etc.) it is a process and does take some time to get used to.
When I first got my lashes, I could definitely feel them. Mainly because my natural lashes are so bad that I had no idea what it felt like to have long full ones. Now, I seriously feel like they are just a part of my eyelids and I love it. The lashes open up my eyes so much and take away all those extra minutes I was spending doing my mascara and trying to make my tiny lashes look big. Waking up every day with amazing lashes makes a big difference. ESPECIALLY if you’re a blogger!!
The services provided at Amazing Lash Studio Costa Mesa are so fabulous, and the staff is the sweetest. I also really love their vibe; everything is light and bright! They also have a beautiful crystal chandelier and glass doors that lead you to the service rooms. My favorite part is the complimentary cozy velour blanket provided by the studio. I literally sleep like a little baby the entire time I get my lashes done now haha!
How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?
- Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours
- Avoid hot steam or sauna
- Use ALS Eye Makeup Cleansing and Protein Removal Pads to remove any eye makeup.
- Use ALS Foaming Lash Wash or a mild antibacterial foaming cleanser to cleanse the lashes.
- Do not perm eyelashes or manually curl.
- Brush with a clean mascara wand daily.
- TIP: Sometimes mornings are a mess! Try washing your lashes in the morning and gently brushing the top side of the extensions with a finger placed beneath. If too much tugging is noticed, a quick stop at your local studio may be necessary to help separate these extensions.
After Your Appointment
Your lash stylists will cover the details of your aftercare at the end of your appointment. To maximize the life of your lashes, avoid direct contact with water on your lashes. Please avoid steam as it will weaken the bond of the adhesive. During the first 48 hours avoid rubbing your eyes and try to sleep without rubbing your face and eyelashes into your pillow.
If you still feel on the fence about lash extensions, please email me! I promise you will LOVE them!! firstname.lastname@example.org
